Update: New actions soon!

3 12 2009

As promised in my last tutorial, I will soon release an updated version of the Photoshop actions that I released earlier. My previous pack was basically some time-saving actions, however, this time it will contain a lot more; much more.

Tutorial: B&W Explained

29 11 2009

Mentioned in my previous post, I have created a tutorial (of sorts) to try and debunk or clear up the methods involved when giving a photo or footage a black and white treatment. I show you four commonly used methods that I strongly disagree with then show you 3 methods that give you more control and power by being able to retain all the colour information/data.

Upcoming ‘Tutorial’ of sorts…B&W!!

26 11 2009

Across many forums I have constantly seen the use (or preaching the use of) desaturate or adjusting the saturation in Hue/Sat in order to get a B&W image. I have for sometime been banging on about why this is poor practise and with this ‘tutorial of sorts’ I will aim to show you every way of achieving a black and white effect as well as their pros and cons. I know many videos exist dealing with this exact point, however, I feel most focus on one or two effects and in the long run it adds to the confusion on what is a simple theory. The video should be out in a few days…. stay tuned!

New Products and services!

20 11 2009

Due to popular demand I now have one product and one service to provide! Many people have asked me about the Ghost Digital logo and wondering if I could provide it on clothing. After some deliberations, I have found a provider and the results are amazing. More about that soon!

The most exciting news is the new service that I am providing. It is a photo adjusting and re-touching service. What does it involve? How much? What will I do? How much does it cost? It is all covered. Click more to find out more! Read the rest of this entry »

Tutorial: Photo Adjusting

18 11 2009

So as promised a new tutorial (of sorts) is now up and ready for viewing! As mentioned in my previous post, this tutorial isn’t actually a tutorial; well not intended anyway. It is a mere reply to a request where I have decided to give a run down on my photo adjusting techniques. This video may teach you some cool little tidbits that I don’t see others do, however, the main aim of this here tutorial/video is to show you my ‘design’ process. Why do I turn a certain photo black and white? How do you decide on the scheme or adjustment you are going to apply? How do you know what look to go for what photo? Then, and only then, how do we go about creating the desired outcome.

A Great Idea

14 11 2009

Over the years we have seen great ideas coming from websites. From AETUTS, offering money for your tutorials to Greyscalegorilla doing the 5 Second projects. Each have their merit and possibilities for those who decide to contribute. Today I saw a new “Great Idea” that could help someone along quite some…

Some 3D work – Update

29 08 2009

Again, it has been a while since I have made an update to this ‘blog’. I do endeavour to update it more often, however, time constraints amke it difficult. I’ve been flat out in the studio as of late and really haven’t had the time. The tutorials that I have planned are still on the cusp and will be recorded soon; hopefully. At any rate, to wet your taste buds I thought I would make an update with some more 3D work that I have done lately from home. Read the rest of this entry »
